Melrose Red Raiders Introduce the "Home Ice Raffle"
for the 2007-2008 Season
#1 Friends of Melrose High School Hockey are sponsoring a "Home Ice
Raffle Program this coming season. $5 raffle chances will be entered
into the drum for cash prize drawings between periods of the RedRaider
home games at Flynn Rink during the 2007-2008 season. MHS Players will
be selling these raffles throughout November.

Melrose High School Hockey - "Shake it up"
at FuddRuckers Restaurant FundRaiser
- Close to $500 raised! -
Friends Melrose High School Hockey
sponsored a "Fund Raiser" event at FuddRucker's Restaurant on Route
1North in Saugus on Wednesday November 7th to benefit the MHS Hockey
program. Melrose Varsity Coaches, friends and hockey families from
youth level right through varsity came down to feast FuddRuckers on
burgers and shakes throughout the night. Many members of the MHS
Football team also supported the event. Some great "College Hockey"
raffle prizes were awarded on site that evening. The FuddRucker
Management reported brisk sales throughout the night and wanted to
thank Joann Fimiani, JudeAllan, Kevin Crovo and others supporting this
successful event.
 Melrose Red Raiders Support the Melrose Victorian Fair
MHS
Coach Jason Shipulski and staff joined Melrose Youth Hockey in
representing Melrose Hockey at this years Victorian Fair held on
September 16th.
Melrose Youth Hockey
President Frank Sorrenti and the Board of Directors were thrilled
with the idea of both combining resources from both MYH and MHS
under one tent.
Many of the MHS Varsity players shared time at the
booth selling raffles and setting up targets for the Melrose Hockey
Shooting Challenge where contestants won shirts for hitting the
targets. Both organizations have cohesive plans to work closely
together to promote pride in Melrose Hockey.
MHS Athletic Director Pat Ruggiero is pleased to announce the
appointment of Jason Shipulski as Head Coach of the Melrose Red Raider
Varsity Hockey Team

Ruggiero is pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Shipulski as
Head Coach of the Melrose Red Raider Varsity Hockey Team. Shipulski is
a graduate of UNH played for Coach Dick Umile who also has strong ties
to Melrose's hockey history. Most recently he had been an Assistant
Coach for the Woburn Tanners (Middlesex League) who have advanced deep
into the state tournaments in the past few years. Jason will bring
along experienced Assistant Coaches in Anthony Luisi, Rob O'Leary, and
Jim Diozzi to the Red Raider program.

"Passing the Torch"

Captain Ben Nadworny and Assistant Chris Cameron pass the torch to the
new Team Captains Mike Fimiani and Billy Allan
Fimiani and Allan named Red Raider
Team Captains for 2007-2008
Senior forwards Mike Fimiani and Billy
Allan were named Team Captains by the players and coaches for the
2007-2008 Melrose Varsity Hockey. Fimiani, who is a multi sport
athlete and talent at MHS, was the team's leading scorer last season.
Allan played a versatile role splitting
duty on both first and second forward lines plus some special teams
duty. He recently completed a successful stint in the Hockey Night in
Boston High School Festival in July.
Both Captains have been part of the MHS
varsity squad since freshmen year and played hockey in the Melrose
Youth Hockey System and AAA select North Suburban Wings.
Congratulations to both Mike and Billy.
